Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 each year, a date designated as International Mother Earth Day by a consensus resolution adopted by the United Nations in 2009. Events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Do one environmentally-friendly activity (i.e. take a 5 minute shower, reuse old plastic/paper bags, carpool to a desired destination, replace an incandescent light buld with a CFL or LED one, etc.) each day, and make everyday in April Earth Day.
